Armed with a Fine Arts degree from RMIT, a background in fashion retail and visual merchandising and a passion for design, Kate Gaskin entered the world of styling in 2002 and hasn't looked back.
Kate started out her career as a Fashion Assistant with Fairfax Magazines, where she remained for five years before eventually making the move to London. It was here that she had the opportunity to work on titles such as Italian Vanity Fair, ELLE Decoration and Living Etc. After spending two years abroad, Kate returned to Australia and was offered the role of Fashion Editor for The Age newspaper's esteemed monthly magazine the (melbourne) magazine, where she spent the next three years.
Since moving into the freelance world she has styled a number of advertising campaigns for iconic Australian brands such as Thurley, Sportsgirl, Portmans, Peter Alexander, Jay Jays, Just Jeans, Brooksfield, Ksubi, Westfield and Myer.
In addition to her extensive print work, Kate regularly styles runway shows and events for Virgin Australia Fashion Festival and Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, collaborating with designers such as Yeojin Bae, Gorman, Kate Sylvester and Easton Pearson. Kate has also produced runway and media events for national retailer Myer, as well as styling their key ambassadors. In addition Kate has also styled International personalities Coco Rocha, Kate Upton and actor Adrien Brody.
Kate is currently based in Melbourne but divides her time working between Sydney and Melbourne.
